ABOUT
Lucy Phillips is a highly respected vocal coach specialising in professional musical theatre performers, recording artists, and career vocalists. With over 25 years of experience in the music and performance industry, she is trusted by professional singers to develop and maintain voices capable of meeting the highest performance demands.
Originally a professional performer herself, Lucy trained on full scholarship at The Arts Educational School in London before performing in West End productions, National Tours, and working as a recording and session singer. She later trained in Los Angeles with legendary vocal coach Seth Riggs and became the UK Teacher Representative for Speech Level Singing International. She founded the award-winning Voxbox Singers Studio in London, where she trained and mentored professional singers and vocal coaches. Her clients have included artists such as Pink Floyd, Amy Winehouse, Dionne Bromfield, Lawson, and X-Factor finalists, and she has worked as a vocal consultant on major television productions including Strictly Come Dancing, Dance X, and Any Dream Will Do.
Lucy specialises in working with professional singers whose voices must perform reliably under pressure — whether sustaining the demands of eight shows a week in the West End, preparing for major auditions, recording sessions, or maintaining vocal strength and consistency throughout a professional career. Her students have performed in leading roles in productions including Les Miserables, Miss Saigon, Hamilton, The Lion King, Matilda, Kinky Boots, and Everybody’s Talking About Jamie.
Her coaching combines exceptional industry experience with advanced academic expertise, holding a Master’s degree with Distinction in Professional Practice of the Arts (Vocal Pedagogy and Performance). This unique combination allows her to provide highly individualised coaching that strengthens vocal technique, builds reliability and stamina, and supports long-term vocal health at the highest professional level.
